Despite spending a lot of time in New York City over the years, (he lived in the Waldorf Astoria for a year) Kongo had never seen the view of the New York skyline from the Top of the Rock. Wow, what a view. The above photo shows the Empire State Building as the sun sets over Manhattan.
You need a ticket to get to the Top of the Rock, the NBC Building at Rockefeller Center, but they’re free. An express elevator whisks you to the 67th floor in 42 seconds and there are three levels of observation decks. The views are simply spectacular. Play tourist the next time you’re in the Big Apple and be sure you see this.
Travel safe. Have fun.
beautiful photos!
Thank you Kris!
New York is so awesome! Great photos!
Itnis over the top awesome. Capital of the world. Kongo falls in love with this city every time he comes back. “These vagabond shoes, are longin’ to roam …”
It is indeed bursting with awesomeness, particularly this time of year. Kongo falls in love with NYC all over again every time he visits. “These vagabond shoes, are longing to roam, I want to be a part of it ….”
WOW! I was in New York in June and my schedule was so tight I didn’t get a chance to see this view. I won’t miss it on my next visit. Thanks for sharing.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thanks, Francine! Love those sushi pillows too
You lived in the Waldorf Astoria for a year?! How wonderful is that! The view from the top is awesome. Great photo. Thanks for the like of my post….yours is better! 🙂
Yes, the Waldorf was great but you know, at the end of the day it’s just another hotel with a really cool lobby! Thanks for visiting!
You have lovely photos, but I think another “artist” has used your image for their art. Perhaps you gave permission, but he seems to present it as his original work. Check it out here: https://www.timbengel.com/sandundgold (titled My American Dream).
Penguin, thanks for the heads up. It’s difficult to tell because of the way the image has been manipulated but it is a very popular place to take photos. Best.
