Monkey Marriage

So don’t get too excited.  Kongo did not scamper off and get married in Las Vegas.  What he did was take Mrs. Kongo on a mid-week getaway to celebrate their 42 years of marital bliss in the jungle and see Celine Dion at Ceasar’s Palace.  Actually they’ve been going steady since the future Mrs. Kongo was sweet sixteen and they met in a Government Class in High School.  Anyway, they’ve been together a long time in monkey years.

Two tickets, eleven rows back, center stage. Perfect!

So, the show was over the top fantastic.  Celine wowed the crowd and the staging, lights, and orchestra were awesome.  Mrs. Kongo sat happily mesmerized and afterward claimed, with misty eyes, “that was the best show I’ve EVER seen” and she has seen a lot.  It was also fun watching Vegas people in the venue.  Afterward the two love-monkeys enjoyed a great Italian dinner and took a stroll along the Strip.  The two monkeys did not make it back to their room until after 2 AM which just goes to show these two simians can still swing a vine or two!

Hello David! In the middle of Atrium Shop Way in the center of Ceasar's Palace is this full size, exactly replicated statue of the original in Florence. Like, who needs to go to Italy to see this stuff. Mrs. Kongo said, "don't take the picture from THAT angle," but there were too many Chinese tourists in the way so Kongo got up close and personal. Whatever you think, David is one big guy!

And it was nice to go back for a quick visit to Paris after dinner!

Besides the hotel suite, the show tickets, and dinner, Kongo did his monkey best to further contribute to the Las Vegas economy by donating various sums at a number of casinos up and down the strip.  Monkeys aren’t good gamblers it seems.  Economies of Primm Valley and Barstow also received a shot in the arm at their outlet malls on the drive back to San Diego.

All in all, a great success.

Travel safe.  Have fun.

  1. I actually heard a guy say to his wife (at The Venetian) “There is no need for us to go to Venice after this…”
Happy Anniversary Kongo! You are one loyal monkey. (Tell your humans congrats & kudos!)
