Safari Park Birds

A rare Pink Backed Pelican opens wide at San Diego’s Safari Park, part of the world famous San Diego Zoo.  Faithful readers of Kongo’s blog will recall that the monkey has an affinity for waterfowl of all types and there were some great birds to see yesterday at the Safari Park.

This little Heron stood perfectly still for several minutes.  Not sure exactly what Heron family this guy belongs to...a Green Heron?

IMG_2745The San Diego Safari Park is located in Escondido about 40 minutes north of downtown San Diego.

    1. It helps to have a camera that shoots 8 frames a second. This was one of about 40 snaps of this guy getting ready to open his mouth! 🙂
