Under the Pier

_MG_3608

Kongo took this image yesterday under the Scripps Pier in La Jolla, California about 10 minutes past sunset.  He mounted his Canon 7D on a tripod, used a EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens set at f22 for five seconds.

Scripps Pier is a private research pier located between La Jolla Shores and Black’s Beach.  It is owned by the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

Travel safe.  Have fun

  1. Great image Kongo. I like the colors and the cross hatch pattern created by the waves in the foreground. I might have run into you if I would have decided to shoot Scripps yesterday after being shut out from Salk. Instead, I went to shoot the Geisel Library at UCSD.

      1. Yeah a photo date sounds good. However, I must say, when you get a group of people that share the same hobby together, it usually results in gear envy and hemorrhaging large amounts of money 🙂

  2. I was going to suggest that you tag this under “postaday” for the Weekly Photo Challenge, but it seems like you already did 🙂 haha. Nice shot.

  3. Wow.. thats one hack of a shot.. very well captured.. i love the way you play with the pier in this shot.. absolutely stunning colors as well.. but the geometry of this photo is simply amazing. Thank you for sharing this inspirational shots.. brings out a whole new level of seeing things to me 😉

    Cheers

  4. Kongo this shot is amazing – I want to have it blown up to put on my wall because it looks like the pier can take you all the way to the setting sun. I love it!!
