Monkey on a Wine Dark Sea

After two days in Tokyo, Kongo is back at sea. Embarkation on the Amazara Quest was easy and painless. Kongo ate lunch while the stateroom with a veranda on deck seven was being readied and then sipped wine for a few hours while Mrs. Kongo scurried about making spa appointments and whatnot. The ship was underway from its berth in Yokohama at 6:30, just at sunset. First days at sea are always interesting. Everyone is still happy and the adventures ahead loom large in our minds. You tend to overlook the little things, like the little head (bathroom) in your stateroom…

Viking Ocean Cruise Review — Viking Star

Kongo recently completed a 13-day ocean cruise aboard the Viking Star, the newest addition to the Viking fleet.  The Viking Star represents the company’s first foray into the world of ocean cruising and the monkey was able to take one of the inaugural cruises known as the Mediterranean Odyssey.  This is a review of the cruise.  If you’re a fan of the traditional Viking river cruises and are considering a new experience on their ocean cruise segment, please read on.

Monkey Aboard

After two days in Budapest, Kongo checks aboard the AMA DOLCE for the seven day cruise up the Danube River to Nuremberg, Germany with many stops along the way. This little monkey quickly made friends with the ship staff and other passengers. He is now the “world famous” Kongo. The following pictures give an overview of the great accommodations aboard the Dolce. In another hour or so he will arrive in Bratislava, Slovakia.
