Thankfully, the marine layer has returned to San Diego so our early mornings are back to the traditional “May Gray” and moving toward “June Gloom.”  The temperatures are down from triple digits to the more usual mid-70s and the fires across the county have abated. All is now well on the West Coast which probably means its time for the monkey to start traveling again and in fact he’s off to Philadelphia in the morning. Building San Salvador

Kongo visits the building site of the San Salvador, the flagship of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo sailed in when he became the first European to discover San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542. The 200-ton galleon is an exact replica of the original ship sailed by Cabrillo. Continue reading “Building San Salvador”
