Chasing Light With Joe McNally

Kongo just finished a 4-day Photo Workshop in San Francisco with National Geographic photographer and photo legend Joe McNally.  One of the many things Joe is famous for is his creative use of artificial light to build stunning images.  This weekend was no exception.  While working with Joe, Kongo was able to take some images too, but without all the equipment Joe normally uses.

San Francisco Weekend

After two weeks of family guests and three grand girls sitting on laps, the monkey and Mrs. Kongo needed a quick break and hopped a flight to San Francisco for a change of scenery.  Since the simian couple grew up in the Bay Area they have been coming back to the City just about every year to get their fix of sour dough bread and San Francisco seafood and visit some of their favorite spots.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Twist

Krista used the See, Speak, and Hear No Evil theme as a take off for the challenge this week that is TWIST.  It’s about a new twist on something old or something that is surprising.  So here’s Kongo’s take on twisting the avoidance of evil theme as he perches on the shoulders of these street monkeys in San Francisco.  See more twisted themes at the WordPress Photo Challenge.

Capturing the Color

Sonia at her blog soniajonestravel urged Kongo to submit a response to the “Capturing the Color” photo challenge where participants post favorite travel photos for red, white, blue, yellow, and white.  The image above, taken at the Plaza Square in Santa Fe, highlights the color blue (the jeans).  Read on for the rest of the monkey’s color choices and thank you Sonia for suggesting this to Kongo!
