So Candice, the woman who does Mrs. Kongo’s toes, told her about these secret stairway walks all over Los Angeles.  Naturally, Mrs. Kongo shared this enticing news and Kongo took off to start exploring a whole new thing. View from Top of the Rock

Despite spending a lot of time in New York City over the years, (he lived in the Waldorf Astoria for a year) Kongo had never seen the view of the New York skyline from the Top of the Rock. Wow, what a view. The above photo shows the Empire State Building as the sun sets over Manhattan.

Hotel Review: Grand Hyatt San Francisco

Kongo often reads with a high degree of admiration the hostel reviews written by brave travelers in exotic destinations.  This isn’t one of those reviews.  Kongo just doesn’t do hostels, frankly, and his idea of roughing it are defined by other parameters.  But Kongo does realize that there are all types of travelers and many different ideas about what constitutes acceptable lodging.  The Grand Hyatt in San Francisco is (in Kongo’s humble opinion) one of those places that qualifies as very acceptable lodging.
