A few years ago I was visiting my youngest son and his bride in Boston where they were both working on advanced degrees. As (almost) starving graduate students they found a lot of fun, free things to do in their great city. One of them was sailing for free on the River Charles through their school’s yacht club.
They had qualified to take out their school’s “big” sailing craft, an Ensign, just like the one Kongo learned to sail on in Newport, RI about hmmm…well, a long time ago.
We had to stay between two bridges but that was great because we didn’t have much time. It was a beautiful day and being on the water is always fun.
The sailing was free. Parking, on the other hand, was a bit pricy for a two-hour sail courtesy of the Cambridge parking patrols.
But let me guess… “Sailing with your son and his bride?” …….vvPRICELESS
