Kongo arrives in Bratislava the capital of Slovakia for a day of walking around and sightseeing in this ancient city. Like most of this part of the world, Bratislava has seen its share of invasions and foreign armies. It is a beautiful small city on the Danube situated close to the junction of three countries in Central Europe: Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria.
Here Kongo has a friendly chat with “Uncle Joe,” a remaining relic from Bratislava’s recent past as part of the Soviet Bloc.
Imagine being in first grade and having to learn to say (and pronounce) a name like this on the first day of school. Some of the words in the Slovak language seem unspeakable!
After an overnight sail from Bratislava, Kongo will arrive in Vienna early tomorrow morning.
