In the tiny Austrian village of Dürnstein Kongo marveled at the profusion and beauty of window boxes. Almost every home wears these colorful floral decorations. They created a happy, welcoming atmosphere which made visitors feel at home. Very classy.

Regensberg Cathedral front face in Regensberg, Germany. This cathedral, dedicated to Saint Peter, was built over the site of a Bishop’s Church dating to 700. Kongo spent three days in Budapest earlier this month. What a city! Budapest possesses charm, history, stunning views, and mystery. Loaded with the flavor of the Astro-Hungarian Empire, a taste of the eastern steppes, and the lurking mysteries of the Cold War, Budapest has something for everyone. Kongo returned to the USA on Wednesday after a 14-day Danube River cruise aboard the AMA DOLCE, one of the newest ships in the AMAWaterways fleet. This is a review of that trip. If you’ve ever considered taking this type of cruise I hope you continue reading.
