Kongo Goes Dutch
On his second full day in Amsterdam, Kongo decides to go all in. The night photography is fantastic, the food is great, the beer is plentiful, and everyone is friendly. What’s not to like?

Lots of cities have parks. Probably most cities. There are parks and then there is Park Güell in Barcelona. It is more wonderland than park and this is where the famed Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí’ let his imagination run wild with fantastical shapes and designs that utilized his use of nature and organic structures to build a unique garden.
George Bernard Shaw called Dubrovnik “heaven on earth.” This angelic city on the Adriatic Sea certainly lives up to this billing. Pretty much the entire historic medieval part of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and its easy to see why. It is one of the most beautifully preserved medieval cites in the world. And HBO thinks so too as it chose this location for many of its Game of Thrones scenes in the fictional Kings Landing.
A beautiful sunset, a romantic setting along Barcelona’s waterfront, a fantastic hotel suite waiting just a few blocks away, and Mrs. Kongo. What more could a salacious simian desire? Just a great meal in one of those quaint sidewalk cafes that line the quay. It was going to be great. Right?
And then there was Rome. Of all the places Kongo visited during his European trip last month, Rome was the city most anticipated. Kongo always felt that if you haven’t been to Rome then you really haven’t been to Europe. Not that other great cities on the continent he’d visited weren’t grand. London, Paris, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Florence, Budapest. Even Moscow. But Rome? Well, Rome is Rome.
