Earlier this week Kongo visited Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera (the quarry) in Barcelona.  This home was designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and built in 1910.  Kongo–under the guiding instruction of Mrs. Kongo–has become a bit of an architecture groupie and visiting the modernistic creation on the Passeig de Gràcia was a highlight of their stay in Spain.

Viking Ocean Cruise Review — Viking Star

Kongo recently completed a 13-day ocean cruise aboard the Viking Star, the newest addition to the Viking fleet.  The Viking Star represents the company’s first foray into the world of ocean cruising and the monkey was able to take one of the inaugural cruises known as the Mediterranean Odyssey.  This is a review of the cruise.  If you’re a fan of the traditional Viking river cruises and are considering a new experience on their ocean cruise segment, please read on.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Green

For this photo challenge, the color green, I chose to select green accents on famous landmarks across Central and Eastern Europe caused by lighting (as in the picture of Budapest’s Chain Bridge above) or the weathered patina on various church spires.

The Monkey as a Tourist

Kongo often thinks of himself as a sophisticated world traveller, suave and graceful, swinging through the vines of the world casting a narrow eye at the regular monkey tourists, the lesser primates. Truth be told, deep inside Kongo’s simian heart lies a world-class primate tourist with a just a lot of miles and airline wings as these photos reveal.

One and a wake up…

 Just one more day and a wake up early in the morning and Kongo is off on his great European adventure.  Here he tries on his “red tie” attire in preparation for the Vienna Opera where he plans to see the Strauss comedy opera Arabella when he sails up the Danube through Austria.  Thanks to good neighbor JoAnne who made sure Kongo had the appropriate Monkey Suit to hobnob in the State Opera House.
