Lake Murray is less than a mile from Kongo’s home in San Diego. It’s a beautiful setting with ducks, birds, fishing, walking and biking trails, baseball diamonds, and tennis courts. It’s a popular spot almost every day but especially on weekends. Kongo spent a few hours there today.

Lake Murray is part of the Mission Trails Regional Park system in San Diego which is the largest urban park setting in the United States. In addition to the lake there are mountains and wilderness areas that have hiking and walking trails, nature museums, and conservation efforts.
Lake Murray itself is 171 acres and is can be as deep as 95 feet in some places. The road that surrounds the lake is just over three miles in length. The lake serves as part of the San Diego water reservoir system.
The lake is stocked with large mouth bass, trout, channel catfish, bluegill, and crappie.
If you’re looking for a nice place to picnic, go fishing without going far, or need a safe place to run or jog, visit Lake Murray the next time you’re in San Diego. You’ll be glad you did.
Travel safe. Have fun.

Gorgeous pics.
Thanks, Daniel!
I have been to Lake Murray so many times. I pulled a monkey maneuver once in a rental boat with my little kids and their friends and nearly ran over a fly fisherman. I haven’t been since the advent of the floating outhouse.
Priceless.
It is a beautiful little spot in the middle of the city. Quite unexpected. At Kongo agrees that the outhouse is indeed priceless. Only in San Diego.
