There’s no denying that the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel tower are spectacular and give such a feeling of Paris but to me it seemed the most striking thing, especially in the center of the city, was the uniform height of almost all of the buildings. Quite beautiful and kind of eerie at the same time. Sounds like a good trip. Check out the canal area.
