Let Sleeping Ducks Stand

Kongo observed this drake mallard closely for several minutes earlier this week as it perched on a fountain in Balboa Park. It never opened its eyes. It never moved. Even when the monkey got quite close it never ruffled a feather. Kongo always thought ducks slept with their beak tucked under a wing or standing on one leg. Many ducks will sleep in the water to avoid predators. But this mallard seemed content to stand on two legs and sleep. Maybe it was just a duck nap. Travel safe. Have fun. Walking her Boat

Kongo spied this determined voyager stalking around the fountain in Balboa Park yesterday afternoon. Three trips around then she returned Kon Tiki to the man who was renting them for donations.  Colorful dress choices, cowgirl boots, and that red hair are going to take this little girl somewhere. Lines and Curves

_MG_2007Kongo spent the morning in Balboa Park, one of his favorite spots, studying lines and curves. He’s come to appreciate how verticals add tension and horizontals soothe.
