After escaping from the Alligator Farm unscathed last Thursday, Kongo headed over to the St. Augustine lighthouse.  This beautiful landmark was built in 1874 and is the latest in a long line of nighttime navigation aids erected here to help mariners avoid making embarrassing landings on the coast. Monkey at the Alligator Farm

Many thanks to fellow blogger Pam who turned Kongo on to alligators.  She promised interesting photos, lots of alligators, and some great birds and that is exactly what the monkey found when he visited the Alligator Farm and Zoological Gardens in St. Augustine, Florida this afternoon. East Coast Sunset

During August, the monkey took a well deserved break from travel and pretty much stayed close to home.  Well, those days are now in the rear view mirror.  This week Kongo spent a few days at the Marriott Sawgrass Resort and Spa in Jacksonville, FL for some monkey business meetings.  (Honest, there were no golf clubs in Kongo’s carry-on).  After enjoying several recent sunsets on the the West Coast, it was interesting to see the differences to those on the East Coast of Florida.
